Holidays in Carvoeiro and Lagoa: what to do

Where to stay

If you’re staying in Carvoeiro, check out the Carvoeiro Garden Hotel, one of our most luxurious hotels located less than 1 km (just over half a mile) from the beach.

If, on the other hand, you’ve opted for a well-deserved break in Lagoa, the Lagoa Apartment Hotel comes highly recommended, containing a wide range of apartments to cater for all needs, from those travelling alone to couples and even groups.

Once you’ve chosen the right accommodation for you, it’s time to get the ball rolling on your holiday.

Start your day in nature

As the two areas we’re focussing on in this article are located so close to each other, this itinerary will give you the best holiday tips whichever one you’re staying in, ensuring you get the absolute most out of your trip to the Algarve.

First off, there’s nothing better than starting your day with a delicious breakfast – the most important meal of the day. Our establishments have been highly praised for the quality of the food we serve as part of a continental breakfast buffet that you are sure to love.

After your favourite meal, we’d highly recommend going for a dip in the pool, as temperatures in the Algarve start picking up from early in the morning.

For those who want to work out while away, this is also a great time to squeeze in your exercise, giving you the rest of the day to discover the beauty of the surrounding area.

Go down to the beach

Safe holidays in the Algarve are those spent in the great outdoors – preferably at the seaside. The hardest part is choosing the beach you want to explore, but to make things easier, we’d suggest you spend a morning at each of these:

  • Carvoeiro Beach;
  • Benagil Beach;
  • Vale de Centeanes Beach;
  • Marinha Beach;

This is one of the areas of the Algarve with the most beautiful beaches, where you can spend hours relaxing in the sun. In the afternoons, don’t miss your chance to hop on a boat tour to discover the cliff-lined coast and hidden sea caves — the most famous of which is Benagil Cave.

At nightfall

Bring your day to a close with a canoe ride or rent a Stand Up Paddleboard. Go for a stroll on the beach or head back to the hotel’s swimming pool to round off the day in the best possible way.

Several excellent choices of restaurants and bars can be found throughout the area, of which Onze Restaurant, Hexagone Restaurant, Le Crô Portugal and A Boneca are of particular note.

Your holiday to Lagoa or Carvoeiro will only be complete once you’ve been on a walk along the Carvoeiro Boardwalk, a walkway that runs along the top of the cliffs providing breathtaking views over the sea.

Set off with the certainty that your holiday in the Algarve will be as safe as it always has been.
